BCA Council elections: deadline extended until Wednesday

For the attention of all members of the British Crystallographic Association:

At the AGM in April 2017, changes to the BCA Statues and Bylaws were approved in order to establish a new procedure for elections to the BCA Council. A Nominating Committee was established and elections take place by electronic ballot of the membership. Nominations for the positions of President, Education & Outreach Officer and Ordinary Member were invited from the Nominating Committee and from members of the BCA.

Many of you have voted already but given that the vote is taking place on-line for the first time this year to ensure that any problems with voting are identified and remedied and  that everyone has the opportunity to vote we have decided to extend the deadline to midnight of Wednesday February 7th.

All members should have received an email with a personalised link to vote with the subject BCA Council Election 2018 on Jan 3rd. Please use this to cast your votes. It also contains a link to the nominations and the candidate statements. Please check spam folders for this message and if you have not received it and expect to have done so then please contact me (Claire.wilson.2@glasgow.ac.uk) or Lucy Boswell at HG3 info@hg3.co.uk as soon as possible.

Please note that in order for your vote to be accepted you need to be a current member of the BCA. Membership expires on Dec 31st each year and renewal invitations as well as reminders are sent via email. If your membership is not renewed by February 7th 2018, then your vote will be invalid.

Please take this opportunity to use your vote to select the BCA Council.

Best wishes,

Claire Wilson
